NEWS and FEATURES
NEWS
Not without some hurdles, I am happy to inform all that we are now a tax-exempt organization with all privileges. This is a great honor and opportunity. I would also like to inform you that we are one of the most successful alumni associations as far as number of members in the short time we have been in existence. However, we still have very few people who are actively involved and I am asking for a few more. Please contact me if there is anything you can do or time you can give.
We also need to be able to cover our operating expenses and have at least one scholarship by the end of this school year (3 1/2 months away). To make an impact I am asking everyone who is able to go to our new Donate button and help. No donation is too small; they add up and are very much appreciated. Remember, your donations will receive the highest deduction allowed by the IRS and will be happy to highlight any individual or business. Please spread the word and please donate as soon as possible.
I look forward to hearing from you soon,
Glen Pettigano, President/epalumni@gmail.com

THIS SHOULD BE FUN
Your profile page now allows you (and we would appreciate if you would do this) to check any and all activities, etc. you participated in while in school. This will not only allow you to be in touch with or start your own groups of selected alumni, but will allow us to contact particular groups and rebuild our alma mater's records.
Go back into your profile and check it out.

More Lost History
We seem to have lost many records for athletic, arts, and academic awards, other than those in the Corridor and Showcases. If you hold any records or received honors (league, county, state, scholar, etc.) while at EPMHS, please let me know. I must ask, that we keep this completely honest, so that we may have a credible history.
Our alumni include many, many individuals who have noteworthy achievements after graduating, in college and after; for example, military, sports, arts, professional/career. We would like to know about that. Perhaps you could send a photo of you conducting or playing in an orchestra, you in your military uniform or college athletic uniform, etc.?
So go dig out that old box of memories and share if you wish. Not only would we like to have an accurate historical account, but this would help motivate some of the current and upcoming students. We have also had guest speakers in the past and would like more. If you are interested, please let us know.

Cooperative Education
Many of you may not be aware that EPMHS offers a Cooperative Education Program for our students. Some of you may be more familiar with the old name, "work study". We feel confident that some of our alumni may be interested in offering the opportunity for our students to get "real world work experience" while earning course credit. You may view the information by clicking Archived E-mail Blasts in the top left section of this page. If you feel you are able to participate, please contact program coordinator Mr. Robert Alviggi at alviggi@epps.org, for more information.

DO NOT RESPOND TO EMAIL
The email you may have received from my yahoo email address is NOT from me! Do not send money to them!
Do not panic. This site is secure. It was my personal alumni account that had some of your email addresses. Precautions and appropriate action has been taken to resolve this issue and prevent it from happening again. Your personal profiles/information were not compromised in any way.
Contact me anytime at EPAlumni@gmail.com.

ALMA MATER
Though our pathways sever, as we travel on life's road,
In our hearts you'll live forever, when we think of times we spent together.
We will always stand together, it makes no difference what the weather,
Friendship eternal we found it in you, Elmwood Park High School our own.
We will be proud to shout from every rafter, our pledge will stand forever after,
Long will we cherish the memories of you, Elmwood Park High School our own.
We will share our triumphs, let our laughter linger on,
Will you boast our honors proudly, for our spirit reflects all your glory.
Fun and laughter in our school days, but still our grades were worthy of praise,
We will remember your guidance, your care, Elmwood Park High School our own.

Town Info
For all of you who have not been to EP in a while here are some changes you may not be aware of. Hillman's Golf Course is gone; making way for offices, hotel, etc. Grand Union and Grand Way are long gone, too. The Elmwood Shopping Center is not even close to the way it used to be, sad to say. Now Grand Union is a Walgreens, Grand Way is a Kmart, Valley Bank is still there and in its parking lot by Elmwood Ford is a Pathmark. All of the stores have changed as well as the layout of the parking lot. Good news is Pizza Town is still alive and well (gotta love that place!) Falls View East is now River View, but basically the same with car shows weekly in the summer playing some of the old music, you know the stuff that many of us grew up with. Adams Diner is still a diner, but not the same name; Parkway Diner is new and improved. Boro Field is still there with a Recreation Center, a Football/Baseball hut, three ball fields, soccer, basketball, and yes, still the tank on the corner. The Rec Center includes a small water park, swings, and Senior Center.
Well I think that's it for now. Thoughts, ideas, photos, links to sites of interest (including slide shows) can be emailed to me. Your help is very much appreciated. Please keep in mind that inappropriate content of any kind will not be tolerated.

Need help with registration?
DO NOT FORGET TO VERIFY! You must answer your verification email after you register to complete the process. If you are having difficulty registering, please let me know. You may email me at epalumni@gmail.com, if you would like some assistance.
Also, please do not SPAM email, etc. from this site. It does have consequences for us. We only send what is important for you to know as a member of this organization. We do not control, however, emails you receive from classmates. You must handle that directly with them. If you would no longer like to receive newsletters/emails from and about EPUAA, we can take care of that. Thanks!
